CLARKSBURG — A 14-year-old boy was flown to Morgantown for treatment Monday afternoon after falling from a downtown Clarksburg parking garage, authorities said.
Clarksburg Police Chief Mark Kiddy told WDTV the boy was riding an electric bicycle inside the garage between Hewes Avenue and U.S. Route 50 when he crashed and went over the side of the structure. Kiddy said the boy fell about 44 feet before landing on the roof of a neighboring building.
Harrison-Taylor 911 received the emergency call at about 5:02 p.m. Emergency crews from the Clarksburg Police Department, Clarksburg Fire Department and Harrison County EMS responded to the scene. The boy was transported by helicopter to Morgantown for additional medical treatment.
Authorities had not released further details about the circumstances of the crash or the extent of the boy’s injuries Monday evening.
