Mr. Michael Joseph Fassnacht, 35, of Cabin Creek, passed away May 20, 2026.
Michael was an employee of Charleston Area Recycling and a proud graduate of the Union Mission Addiction Recovery Program. He was known for his strong work ethic, his enjoyment of cutting grass, and his ability to make people laugh wherever he went. Michael cherished his friends and family and touched many lives with his humor and kind heart.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Kay Johnson West, and his father, Harvey Fassnacht.
Michael is survived by his fiancé, Ashley Lasha Davis; his sister Amanda Fassnacht; his aunts, Karen Goodwin Johnson and Janet Walls; his uncle, Edward Johnson; his best friends, JR and Michelle Turley, Ross Anderson, and Colton Davis; as well as a host of cousins, extended family members, recovery family, work family and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
A candlelight vigil to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Magic Island in Charleston.
Michael’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
