Stuart “BoBo” Allen Sergent, 85, of Elkview, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sankey and Minnie Sergent; siblings, Howard Sergent, Richard Sergent, Donald Sergent, Helen Lynch, Ruth Flint, Woody Boggs, Flo Marshall, Vera Moore, Lindy Sergent, Anne Riffle, Larry Sergent, and Paul Sergent; and granddaughters, Bailey Adkins and Callie Sergent.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce “Peach” Rose Sergent; daughter, Lori (Adam) Adkins; son, Chris (Jodi) Sergent; grandchildren, Mason Adkins, Savannah Adkins, and Noah Sergent; and several nieces and nephews.
Stu loved his family and cherished spending time with them. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, watching sports, and following the stock market. He graduated from Gassaway High School in 1958, where he played football, attended West Virginia Wesleyan on a football scholarship, and later graduated from West Virginia State College in 1979.
Stu began his Air Force career in 1963 and served four years on active duty, including service in Vietnam. He continued his military career with the West Virginia Air National Guard. Following his military service, he retired as a district manager with Glaxo Pharmaceuticals.
He proudly continued a family tradition as a distinguished member of the Masonic Lodge. An ordained deacon, Stu loved attending church and listening to gospel music.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Petry officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Gassaway, West Virginia.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home in Elkview.
