Tammy Tabitha Stricklen, 53, of Walton, West Virginia, was received into Heaven on June 23, 2026.

She was born on February 17, 1973, in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Okey James Jay Barnhouse and Nancy Carol Looney Barnhouse.

She is survived by her loving husband Ronald Gary Stricklen, daughter Hannah Carroll (John Ross), son Phillip Stricklen, brother Timothy Barnhouse (Lori), and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She spent her early career working at Poca Valley Bank and then transitioned to being a homemaker, the most sacred job. She devoted her time into Kingdom work by building her family’s foundation on God’s word.

She was a devout Christian and prayer warrior. Being raised in church and continuing through adulthood, she established a lifelong immersion of faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Cottontree Community Church where she taught Sunday School, served as the Youth Group Leader, organized church dinners, and she loved to sing. her favorite verses were the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-12 and John 14:27.

She was a loving and selfless mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, always putting others before herself. She was an organizer, problem-solver, avid reader, music lover, and the heart of the family.

A funeral service will be held at Stump-Matics Funeral Home, 8539 Elk River Road North, Clendenin, West Virginia, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Billy Meadows officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, 1:00-3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Rocky Branch Cemetery, Walton, WV.
