Patricia Ann Hermansdorfer, loving and dedicated mother, wife, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2026, at Brookdale Charleston Gardens after a long illness. Patty was born on March 29, 1943, in Charleston, WV. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Don A. Hermansdorfer, her parents Rev. Charles F. and Mrs. Ruth Scragg and her brothers William (Bill) Scragg, and Charles T. (Tom) Scragg.

Patty devoted her life to caring for her family, finding her greatest joy in raising her daughters and lovingly caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when helping others, always putting the needs of her family and those around her before her own.

Patty had an unwavering faith in God and a love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She and her family sang together and spread the gospel in churches throughout West Virginia for over 30 years. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Elkview and had previously been a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, Charleston Mountain Mission, and Kanawha Two Mile Gospel Tabernacle, where she befriended and impacted many people throughout her life.

She is survived by her brother Orville (Jake) Scragg; three daughters: Judy Proctor (Jeff), Karen Clendenin (Ben Matthews), and Nancy Butler (Harold); five grandchildren: Jason Proctor (Courtney), Tyler Clendenin (Sabrina), Brock Clendenin, Jared Proctor (Carly), and Ella Butler; four great-grandchildren: Luke Proctor, Jack Proctor, Grant Proctor, and Noah Proctor; and a host of nephews, nieces, extended family members and friends who loved her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at Brookdale Charleston Gardens for their compassionate care, dedication and support (especially Annie and Kenzy); to Lydia Smith, FNP-BC for her exceptional medical care and kindness; and to the Charleston HospiceCare staff for their additional support and comfort.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Bollinger Funeral Home in Charleston with Pastor Tommy Bartlett officiating. Patty will be laid to rest at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens following the service.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Bollinger Funeral Home 420 Lee Street, W., Charleston, WV 25302 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
