Edwin “Sonny” Clark McCormick, 93, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, service, and devotion to family.
Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and patriotism throughout his life.
The greatest joy of Sonny’s life was his family. He shared a beautiful life with the love of his life, Dolly “Rick”, until her passing in 2018. Their marriage was built on love, commitment, and countless treasured memories together. Though he deeply missed Dolly, he continued to carry her love in his heart every day.
Sonny was a devoted father to his three children, Vicki, (Ray), Vince, (Susan) and Ed (Karri). He experienced the profound heartbreak of losing his son, Ed, in 2025, but remained a source of strength and love for his family.
He was a proud grandfather to Vincent (Maureen), Farrah, Justin (Stacy) and Jason, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply spending time together, his family always cme first.
When he wasn’t surrounded by those he loved, Sonny found peace with a fishing rod in hand, especially during his treasured trips to Amelia Island. Those quiet days on the water reflected the simple pleasures that meant so much to him.
Sonny will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering love for his family, faithful service to his country, and the kindness he shared throughout his 93 years. His life was one of dedication, resilience, and love.
He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who will forever cherish his memory. Though he is deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his beloved Dolly and his son, Ed.
May he rest in eternal peace.
