Joshua Paul Brown “Josh” of St. Augustine, Florida (formerly Oakdale, CT), passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 2, 2026, in West Virginia. He was born May 10, 1993, in New London, CT.
Josh was a hardworking, ambitious man who began his career in the financial industry, quickly advancing through various roles and companies. In more recent years, he tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit, investing in and creating several small businesses. Josh loved traveling and just visited Mexico City and Hawaii around his birthday. He admired the natural beauty and peacefulness of Hawaii, quickly becoming one of his favorite destinations. In addition to travel, he loved spending time with his family and close friends, taking many trips to visit them in CT and CA.
Josh loved a good concert and saw many of the greats, such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Billy Joel, to name a few. Josh loved a good bourbon, cocktail, or New England IPA. Some of his hobbies included fitness, woodworking, reading, home improvement, and riding his bicycle around the beautiful St. Augustine historic area.
Josh was an intelligent and honest man who deeply loved his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a vibrant smile that could light up a room.
Josh was predeceased by his father, Paul William Brown Jr.; grandmother Pamela Kay Urello; and grandmother Ann Marie Emmett.
Josh is survived by his mother, Anita Lynn (DeFazio) Brown; his sister, Stephanie Fertman (Judd); his brother, Ian Patrick Brown; and his nephew, Bryson Fertman. Best friend Thomas Marley (Ashleigh), as well as a host of other family and friends.
Cremation has been observed, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
