Ola Ulysses Dawson, 76, of Sissonville passed away peacefully at his home on July 15, 2026.
Ola was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Virgie Dawson.
He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Drema Dawson; his stepson, Jackie Creasey; his grandchildren, Chloe and Isaiah; four sisters, Bernice Kelley, Charlene Wright, Barbra Morrison, and Darla Hurley; and four brothers, Gardell Dawson, Clyde Dawson, Nathan Dawson, and Michael Dawson. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Ola retired from Union Carbide after many years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Union Valley Church, where he found strength in his faith and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
Ola will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his devotion to his family, and the kindness he showed to those around him. His life touched many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared with him and the lasting legacy of love he leaves behind.
A tribute to the life of Mr. Dawson will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday July 21, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Legg officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
