James Lloyd Huffman, 59, of Rocky Fork, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026, of a sudden illness.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents Harold & Della Huffman, as well as Arnold & Dorothy Martin, mother Janet “Sissy” Louise Huffman, his brothers Vernon and Lonnie Huffman.
James was a lifetime fan of Nascar. Some of his favorite drivers were Davey Allison, Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Dale Jarrett & Earnhardt Jr., and sometimes whoever was winning that week. He was a Ford fan through & through.
James is survived by his father, Paul Huffman of Rocky Fork, sister Sheila Thompson of Jackson County, brother Jonathan (Laura) Huffman of Lincoln County, as well as his lifetime best friend & sister Lori Huffman of Rocky Fork. He is also survived by 4 nephews & 3 nieces, as well as a host of other family & friends that he dearly loved. We would like to give a special shoutout to his friend, Bobby, and his nurse, Tiffany Godwin, from Autumn Lake Health Care in Elkins, WV, she has been an absolute angel & James’ favorite.
A tribute to the life of James will be 2:00 PM Saturday March 14, 2026, at Baber Agee Church with Pastor Paul Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in James V. Burford Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday March 13, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
