Wanda Rosalie Douglas-Tanner, 92 of South Charleston went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Home.

Wanda was a loving woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved cooking for her family and spending time quilting, always putting care into everything she made. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren who meant the world to her, Wanda was so proud she was able to see five generations of her family. She loved making memories with them and being a big part of their lives. Wanda also attended Union Mission for several years where she grew in her faith. She was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her first husband James Douglas, and second husband John Tanner. She is also preceded in death by her son, David Douglas; grandson Steven Lipscomb; and sister, Betty R. Young.

Wanda leaves behind her children, James M. Douglas Jr. (Rebecca), of Clendenin, Timothy D. Douglas (Kim) of St. Albans, Meleea Dean of Buffalo; brothers, Roger A. Barickman of Florida and Robert L. Barickman of Florida; along with 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren; step children, Cathy Green of South Carolina, Amy Tanner of South Carolina, Tim Tanner of South Carolina.

A funeral service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Gillispie officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park in Big Chimney.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Home for the care and support they have provided to Wanda over the last several years.
