Patricia Elaine Miller, born June 11, 1950, in Charleston, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026.

Patricia grew up in St. Albans, West Virginia, where she built the foundation of a life defined by kindness, resilience, and quiet strength. She graduated from St. Albans High School and went on to attend West Virginia University, forming lifelong memories and friendships along the way.

She spent most of her life in Poca, West Virginia, where she created a home filled with warmth, love, and unwavering support for her family and community.

Patricia dedicated many years of her life to education as a beloved teacher at George Washington Elementary School in Eleanor, West Virginia. She touched the lives of countless students with her patience, compassion, and commitment, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered for generations.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steady presence, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for. She had a deep love for her community and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including her love for dogs.

Above all, Patricia cherished her family. She deeply loved her husband, Tom Miller, with whom she shared 18 wonderful years of marriage, as well as her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, who brought her immense joy and pride. She also shared a special and lasting bond with her brother, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernestine and James Hayes.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Miller; her daughter, Kara Perry of Charlotte, North Carolina; her son, Shannon Haning of Hurricane, West Virginia; her grandchildren, Olivia Peet (Colin), Tristan Perry, Nicholas Haning, Madilynn Haning, and Isabella Perry; her great-grandson, Jackson Peet; and her brother, Ronnie Hayes of High Point.

Patricia’s life was a testament to compassion, devotion, and enduring love. Her memory will forever be held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A tribute to the life of Patricia will be 11:00 AM Friday April 3, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Delbert Hawley officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donating to a charity of your choice.
