James R Wayson, 51 of Staten Island, NY recently Lynchburg, VA passed away on May 26, 2026.
Jim is preceded in death by his grandparents, James & Opal Wayson, and father, James M Wayson.
He is survived by his sons Michael Mills Wayson and Jacob Wayson, and daughter, Autumn Wayson and his beloved granddaughter Elena. Mother of his children Cindy Mills Wayson. His sisters, Dawn (Phil) Martin & Joanne (Raymond) Pennix. As well as many nieces, nephew, & extended family. His brothers not by blood but in heart The Boldest Ryders MC.
Jim was born on Staten Island, NY on May 6, 1975. In 1984 his family moved to Chestertown, NY. Jim attended and graduated from Mountainside Christian Academy in 1994. Soon after he returned to SI where he married and worked as a mechanic. In April 2008 he started his career in the Department of Corrections in the City of NY. He started in 76 EMTC and later transferred to the Transportation Department.
In May 2020 due to medical complications, he left the DOC. In 2023 he started working for Raymond Pennix Transport, LLC. Jim loved driving across the US and meeting many new friends along the way.
To know Jim was to love him. He never knew a stranger. He was happiest when he was with family and friends laughing and joking. Jim knew a bit about everything, or he liked to tell you he did. He loved all sports, especially his NY Jets. He loved to grill out and always had a cold one in one hand and occasionally a good cigar in the other. Our brother Jim and friend to many will be greatly missed.
