It is with heavy hearts and profound peace that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Sheets Kitchen, 77 years old of Cross Lanes, WV. She was taken home to her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2026.

Barbara was born in Charleston, WV in 1949. She is a graduate of Dupont High School Class of 1967. Later in life, Barbara fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse. She was a nurse at CAMC Memorial Hospital on 5 South and the Ambulatory Infusion Center for over 30 years. Her gentle spirit, strong faith, and genuine concern for others made her especially suited for caring for those who were sick or hurting.

Barbara was a woman of unwavering faith, whose love for the Lord shone through every aspect of her life. She found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life. She shared her faith through kindness, compassion, and unyielding trust in God’s plan.

Barbara’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Carl Mike Kitchen, her children, Kimberly Young (Tim), Shaun Kitchen, and Kristi Winters. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Gavin, Mason, Callen, Drake, Grady, Tatum, Colton, and Violet. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn King, her brother Kent Sheets and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Violet Sheets, sisters Nadine McCallister and Vida Cruz.

Please join us for a celebration of life on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Living Hope Church, 5345 Big Tyler Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313 (formerly Perrow Presbyterian). Visitation is from 4pm-6pm. The service is at 6pm.
