Mr. Keith Michael “Mike” Bittle, 71, of Cross Lanes, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2026, at his home.
Mike was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and West Virginia State College. He retired from Asbestos Workers Local #80 after many years of dedicated service. A faithful Christian, Mike attended Rock Branch Independent Church.
Mike was a longtime member of the Kanawha Valley Railroad Association and found great joy in woodworking, trains, history, and his beloved cats. He will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the friendships he cherished throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Barbara “Bobbie” Bittle; his parents, Keith and Ruth Bittle; his brother, Theron Bittle; and his brother-in-law, James “Pungun” Garrison.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Judy Scaggs; sisters-in-law, Jane Bittle, Velma (Jamie) Christy, Melva Fisher, and Sharon Garrison; his special friends, Sandy Hill, Orvie Stewart, and Ron Ash, whose kindness and support meant so much to Mike; his niece, Kendall Bittle; his nephews, Theron Bittle, Jr. and John Bittle; his cat Pearl and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A tribute to Mike’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Delbert Hawley officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mike’s faith, love of family and friends, and passion for the simple joys of life will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
