Larry Clyde Shafer Sr.
Larry Shafer Sr. went to his eternal home in the morning of Thursday, January 15, 2026.
He passed peacefully at his home. In his last days, he enjoyed sharing the gospel and having bible study.
Larry was born in Clendenin, WV March 11, 1948. He had several jobs including FMC, Carbide, & Pennzoil.
He was preceded in death by his father, M.P. Jack Shafer and his mother, Elsie Drake Shafer; brothers, Henry, Jack, and Sammy; and sisters, JoAnn Strickland, June Holstein, and Geneva Marshal.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernice Shafer; daughter, Cathy (Wayne) Paxton; son, Larry C. Shafer Jr.; and stepdaughter, Sherri Burdette.
Larry will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to sharing the eternal grace of Jesus Christ.
A service will begin 1:30pm, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 12:30pm – 1:30pm at the funeral home.
