Donald Franklin Weaver, 89 of St Albans, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Donald was born on August 29, 1936, at home in Graham Station near Letart, WV to the late Charley Ervin and Grace A. (McMillin) Weaver of New Haven, WV

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Marjorie Gerlach, Nelda Ohlinger, Audrey Stewart, Norma Poole, Francis Loueva Kent, Patty E Weaver and brother Charles E Weaver.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Dawna D. (Douglas) Wilson of St. Albans, WV. His brother F. Dennis (Brenda) Weaver of Point Pleasant, WV and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Donald proudly served his country as a United States Marine, a commitment that reflected his lifelong values of discipline, service and integrity. He spent one year on a ship in the Mediterranean Sea and was awarded the Rifle Expert medal in his platoon.

Following his military service, he became a skilled carpenter and was a longtime member of the Carpenters Local from which he retired after many years of dedicated work. His career included work on several notable projects including John Amos Power Plant, Disney World, EPCOT Center and MGM Studios in Orlando Florida. In 1983 he was part of the construction crew during the filming of the movie JAWS 3D where he built the shark props and brought them to life on the set.

Donald lived in Florida for approximately 20 years before returning to West Virginia. A man of strong faith, Donald was a Christian and lived his life guided by his beliefs. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar and found joy and comfort in music.

A tribute to the life of Mr. Donald Franklin Weaver will be 12:00 PM Tuesday February 3, 2026, at Graham Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Graham Cemetery in Letart just outside of New Haven, WV.
