Carl Russ “Rusty” Hunter
Carl Russ “Rusty” Hunter, 64, of Hurricane went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg.
Rusty was an avid collector and trader, with a particular appreciation for pocket knives, and pocket watches. He enjoyed the stories and connections that came with each exchange. Rusty was employed by Potesta and Associates Inc., where he served as a surveyor for many years. He loved his family and spending time with them, he will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Noriene Hunter.
He leaves behind his son, Barry Hunter (Rachel); daughter, Brittiny (Ben) Ice; sister, Jeanne Perry (Greg); grandchildren, Anastasia Hunter, Isabelle Ice, Chloe Ice, and Theo Ice; nieces, Sierra Eakle (Alex) and their children Holland and Lettie of Colorado Springs, CO; Cassie Perry of Syracuse, NY; Ethan Perry of Dubuque, IA, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home in Elkview with Pastor Mark Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at the Buckner-Young Cemetery on Mill Creek.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home.
