Lela “Sissy” Mae Stricklen, 64, of Clendenin, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 9, 2026, at CAMC-Memorial.
She was born August 29, 1961, in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Lawrence Youman and Maysel Marie Taylor Stricklen.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother Edgar Stricklen; maternal grandparents Clarence and Alice Taylor and paternal grandparents Jasper and Herriot Stricklen.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother Cecil Stricklen.
She was a member of Reamer Hill Community Church. Lela was very sweet, happy, and laid back. She just enjoyed living life! She was a lover of all animals and she was always willing to lend a helping hand.
A funeral service will be held at Reamer Hill Community Church, 1078 Reamer Hill on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Tobby Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery, Leatherwood Rd., Clendenin, WV.
