Eileen Rutherford went to be with her Savior on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Eileen’s kindness, strength, and devotion to her family touched many lives, and her memory will be cherished forever.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Eugene Rutherford; two daughters, Rebeccah Johnson and Delores Fay Thomas; as well as all of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children: Billy Rutherford, Linda Rutherford, Brenda Rutherford, Carol Staten (Robert), Tim Rutherford (Jennifer), and Michael Rutherford. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who brought great joy to her life.
Eileen was an active member of The Tabernacle in South Charleston, West Virginia. Her love for the Lord and her love of singing for Him will be remembered by all who knew her. The lasting impact she had on those around her will be remembered for years to come. Though she will be greatly missed, her family takes comfort in the many memories they shared with her.
Service will be at 1pm on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Darnell officiating. Entombment will follow at Elk Hill Mausoleum in Big Chimney.
Visitation will be from 12pm to 1pm at Hafer Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2026.
