Lorena Mae Ray (Renie) born April 26 1951 in Charleston WV, went home to the Lord after a long illness on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Preceded in death by parents Betty Louise Lightner from Charleston WV and Melvin Franklin Withrow from Poca WV her, brother Frankin Allen Withrow, sister Devra Smith.
She was married 33 years and proceeded in death by ex-husband SSGT William H Ray, who served in the United States Marine Corp for 25 years with Renie by his side she was the glue that kept us all together.
Renie is also survived by her son, William H. and Mellisa Ray of Dunbar, daughters Susan D. and Daniel Smith of Hubert NC, and Barbara Jean Shamblin of Charleston WV
Her life partner Earl Wayne Fisher of Charleston WV tended to her and cared for with great love and compassion for 27 years until the end.
Renie is also survived by grandchildren, Danielle and Travis Smith, Cody, Megan, William Ray, James and Cheyenne Shamblin and great grandchildren she loved very much.
She was an avid animal lover and made them her hobbies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family services will be held with burial in the Fisher Cemetery, Charleston.
