Mrs. Patricia Ann Higginbotham, 72, of Nitro, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Patricia was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose life centered around caring for those she loved. She retired as an office manager from Dr. Mali’s practice, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. Above all, Patricia found her greatest purpose in her family—especially in her role as a caregiver to her daughter, Nicole, and in the joy she found in spending time with her beloved grandson.

A faithful member of New Horizon Worship Center, Patricia lived her life grounded in faith and service. She had a nurturing spirit and took great pride in her home, often spending time tending to her flower garden and creating a warm, loving environment for her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Rutledge, father William Thompson, and brother Willard (Loretta) Douglas Thompson.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mr. William E. Higginbotham; her children, Nicole Higginbotham and Jarrod (Sutton) Higginbotham; her treasured grandson, Bryson; and her siblings, Mary Brazis, Thomas (Tamela) Rayburn Harrell, Samuel (Shelia) Harrell, Lucy (Jack) Parker, Allen (Pam) Wayne Thompson, and John Wendell Thompson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Valley Center for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Patricia.

A tribute to the life of Mrs. Patricia Higginbotham will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bron Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
