Celebrating the Life of Paul Michael Thompson

April 10, 1962 – March 21,2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Michael Thompson, a man whose life was a testament to the beauty of simple joys: good music, good food, and the company of good people.

A Legacy of Flavor and Song

Paul was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Ann and Bill Thompson. From an early age, he found his voice in the arts—whether he was playing an instrument or performing on stage in school. He loved to sing and was a member of a couple traveling musical groups in his younger days. As he grew, that creative spirit moved into the kitchen, which became his true sanctuary. Paul poured his heart and soul into every meal, believing that cooking was a way to provide both nourishment and happiness to those he loved. He took great pride in learning and passing down recipes, ensuring his family would always have a taste of home to carry with them. Paul was an employee of Bob Evans Restaurants for 35 years and was the manager at the Cross Lanes location.

In his later years, Paul’s spirit was often found on the open road. He loved nothing more than a warm, sunny day, driving down the interstate in his S10 with the windows down and Rock 105 turned up high.

A Devoted Family Man

While he had many passions, Paul’s greatest achievement was his family. On June 16, 1989, he married his wife, Lori, and together they built a life full of pride and purpose. Paul took immense joy in his children—Michael, Brittany, and Lauren—and was endlessly proud of the people they became.

His heart grew even larger when he became a grandfather. He cherished and loved Marijane, Aiden, and Haleigh beyond measure, leaving them with a legacy of laughter and strength.

Those Who Journeyed Before and After

His memory will be held eternally dear by his Mother, Ann; his brother, Mark his beloved wife, Lori; his children, Michael, Brittany, and Lauren; and his three cherished grandchildren.

Paul was an incredible man who inspired so many through his resilience and his unique ability to make anyone laugh. He will be deeply missed, but his song plays on in the hearts of those he left behind.

“The best music is essentially there to provide you something to face the world with.” – Bruce Springsteen
