Betty Ann Szerokman Connard, 90 of Shrewsbury, WV formally of Ward, WV died from a short battle with dementia.
After a job with C & P Telephone Co. she became a full time mother and cake baker. Once she mastered her baking skills she became the cake baker for the eastern part of Kanawha County. Betty was one of the founders member of the Ward Union Committee and working with other members in planning reunions.
Betty Ann was mother to many of her children’s friends as they passed through her home. Her heart was big and she gave as much as she could for those who were needing.
Preceded in death by two sister’s, Claudette and Phyllis Szerokman, her parents, Frank and Eloise Szerokman, her son, Russell S. Ellis Jr. and her husbands, Russell “Bud” Ellis and Ronald Connard.
Survived by her daughters, Jennifer and Laura Ellis, Dannee Clyne (Walt) and Rhonda Clark (Allen) and nine grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday March 28th, 2026 at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 600 Old Fort Street, Cedar Grove, WV 25039. Burial will follow in the Ward Cemetery, Ward. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Saturday.
