Michael Scott Bryant, 49 of St. Albans was born August 7, 1976.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, Michael Scott Bryant, who entered into the Lord’s hands on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Michael unexpectedly succumbed to long-term illnesses after bravely fighting not only his health struggles, but the challenges of the system as well.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur Ray and Thelma Hammack; his paternal grandparents, Palmer and Georgina Bryant; his father, Charles E. Bryant; and his brothers, Charles “Chuck” Bryant Jr. and Paul David Bryant.
Michael will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Martha Raye Bryant; his brothers, Brent Haynes of Houston, Texas, Kris Bryant (Amanda), and Jeremy Bryant (Brandi); his sisters, Melissa Bryant-West (Michael), Naticia Bryant, and Danyel Herdman (Brady); his children, Sydni Nichole Bryant, Amber Dawn Farley (Alex), and Cory Alan Sigmon (Ashley); and one he loved as a son, Zachary Lee Elder.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Sadie Olivia-Ann, Alex, Allen, Adalyn, and Bentley, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Michael was a devoted father and grandfather, and his family was his greatest joy and purpose in life. He loved spending time with those he cared about most. An avid hunter, Michael also enjoyed cooking, as well as building and remodeling. His lifelong passion for cars began in childhood and led him to become a self-taught mechanic, eventually owning and operating his own auto garage.
Michael was a friend to all and treated everyone like family. He was always ready, willing, and able to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, at any time.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A tribute to the life of Michael will be 7:00 PM Monday April 6, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Michael will be cremated, with interment at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made directly to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Any and all contributions are deeply appreciated.
