Mildred Kay (Robinson) Booker of Charleston departed this life Saturday, May 2, 2026. She was born February 12, 1934, in Deep Water, WV. Her family moved to Charleston, WV, when she was 4 years old. Mildred married her high school sweetheart, and they and all of their children graduated from Charleston High School. She is preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Gertrude (Kincaid) Robinson. Also preceding her in death are her beloved husband, James Marcus Booker, and eight siblings: Dorothy Cook, Virginia Monday, George Robinson, John Thomas Robinson, Margaret Monday, Helen Bland, Wanda Robinson, and Angus Robinson.
Mildred was a retired medical office administrative assistant and a member of the Morris Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved worship, fellowship, and bible study. After retiring, Mildred volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at a church food bank.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Rick Booker (Janet), Steven Booker, and Donna Roupas (Taso); grandchildren, Eric Booker (Jessica), Ryan Booker, Ashe Abele (Taylor), Julianna Roupas, and Adam Roupas, as well as a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of Mildred’s life will be held at 1:00 PM. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church, Kanawha City, with Pastor Ray Stonestreet officiating. Mildred will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, following the service.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, one hour before the service at the church.
