Ms. Synthea Michelle “Shelly” Lester, 45, of Huntington, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Shelly was a Christian and attended Christ Temple Church. She enjoyed singing and had a special love for flowers, whether receiving them or giving them to others, even if it was just a single rose. Above all, Shelly cherished the time she spent with her son, Jacob, always wanting him by her side. Together they enjoyed vacationing, playing football, and sharing many fun games of air hockey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Lester; grandparents, Homer and Aileen Daddysman; and Elmer and Mary Lester.
Shelly leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved son, Jacob Lester; mother, Carolyn (Greg) Evans; brothers, Michael (Connie) Lester and Benjamin Lester; sister, Stephanie Slusher; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
A tribute to the life of Shelly will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Elkview. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
