Mrs. Barbara Allen Lanham, 68, of Ravenswood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at her daughter’s home surrounded by the love of her family on Mother’s Day.
Barbara was born in Charleston to the late Edward and Eloise Perdue. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose kind heart and uplifting spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Barbara always made people happy. She had a way of bringing smiles to those around her with her upbeat personality and caring nature. She enjoyed watching westerns, crocheting, cooking for those she loved, and spending time with her beloved furbabies and family. Though she often had little for herself, Barbara made certain everyone around her was cared for. She was truly an amazing and giving person whose love and generosity will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her children, Esther (Arnold) Lester, Donald (Amber) Baley, and Adam Baley; sisters Eva Whittington and Ann Parsley; along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A tribute to the life of Barbara will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Gatens-Harding Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
