Huston Clinton Smith, Jr., 81 of Elkview passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his home.
Huston will be remembered as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand. If someone needed help, he was the kind of person who showed up without hesitation. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He also attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he found faith and fellowship. His caring nature and the way he looked out for others will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his son Matthew Smith; and parents, Huston Clinton Smith, Sr., and Wanda Smith.
Huston leaves behind his wife, Susan Smith; sons, Huston Smith III, Mark Smith, Scott Smith, and Chris Smith; brothers, Joe Smith, Greg Smith, Kevin Smith and Jerry Smith; sister, Shella Kay; along with six grandchildren.
A service will be at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home.
