Jean Faye (Hannon) Shafer, 89, of South Charleston, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
She was born July 8, 1936 in Charleston, WV. A daughter of the late, Shirley and Sylvia Hannon. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Shafer and her precious daughter.
In addition to being a homemaker, she also worked for some time as a cook at Columbia Gas Company.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jeff Shafer; grandson, Ashley Thompson as well as a host of other family and friends.
Cremation has been observed, and no services will be held at this time. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
The family’s care has been entrusted to Good Shepherd Mortuary, 335 Fifth Avenue, South Charleston, WV 25303.
