Robert L. Baker, 87, of Saint Albans, WV, died Friday, May 15, 2026 at home under Hospice care with end stage heart disease.
He was born August 6, 1938 near Williamsport, PA. Son of the late Harold John Baker and Nellie Daugherty Baker. Bob married Teresa Laverack on October 23, 1993 and they shared 32 years of marriage together.
Bob is survived by his wife, Teresa Baker, of Saint Albans, daughter Lauren
(Lester) Lozano of Dunbar. Three step-children: Eric (Stephanie) Laverack
of South Charleston, Candy (Lee) Craiglow of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Jay
(Nikki) Laverack of Saint Albans. Grandchildren: Chloe, Madison, Franklin,
Conner, Gigi. Great-granddaughter: Elara. Sister-in-laws: Louise Baker and Sandra Baker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce
Bell Baker, son Shawn Scott Baker, brothers Gary and Richard Baker and
sister Joyce Salinger.
Bob was a dedicated member of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1957. He enjoyed telling others about God’s Kingdom and how that gave him a hope for the future (Job 14:15). He was known for loving horses and carpentry.
A memorial service will be held 5pm, Sunday, May 31 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 606 King Street, Dunbar, WV 25064 with Elder Eric Laverack officiating. Zoom connection will be available. Contact family members.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
