Rodney Lawrence (Snook) Lupardus, 79, of Gandeeville, West Virginia, passed away at his home Sunday, May 24, 2026, with his family at his side.
He was born at Harmony, WV, on March 6, 1947, a son of the late Earl Herman and Opal Edith Westfall Lupardus. He was the last of his siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife Jessica Walker Lupardus; two children, son Anthony Lupardus (Denise) and daughter Sharon Lupardus (Mark); four grandsons, Matthew Lupardus (Sarah), Trevor Lupardus, Austin Lupardus, and Isaiah Lupardus; and two great-grandchildren, Levi Lupardus of Clendenin, WV and Kinley Lupardus of Gandeeville. He loved all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly.
Rodney was retired from Laborers’ Local #1353, Charleston, WV. He was a farm man at heart, he loved hunting, fishing, and loved his farm life, especially his old tractors. He was a very hardworking man. His road work drilling union job for the interstates, all the rock dust, took his lungs 20 years ago. He was on oxygen 24 hours a day, as well as other machines. Finally, he tired of fighting. The Lord decided to bring him Home. He’s at rest now.
Rodney’s family would like to thank Kanawha Hospice for helping him to be pain free for his journey. Thank you to those who have sent food. We appreciate everything you have done. A special thank you to his nurse, Debbie. She is wonderful!
Per Rodney’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stump-Matics Funeral Home, 8539 Elk River Road North, Clendenin, West Virginia 25045. Fond memories and words of comfort can be shared with the Lupardus family at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
