Zellamae Frances Carte Shawver-Hudnall

Born 7/17/43, died 6/3/2026 after a long fight with cancer. She was a high school English teacher from 1970–2001. She was a member of East Bank United Methodist Church, where she was an active Sunday school teacher, choir director, and community choir founder.

She always loved music, family, creative poetry writing, church activities, plays, etc., and was always striving to please the Lord. She could not have been blessed with a better family, caregivers, friends, and neighbors.

She was blessed to be a part of two families. Forty-two years with George William (Bill) Shawver brought sister-in-law Malinda (Wayne) Price; children: Mechiele (Mike) Roush, George Wm. (Margie), Matthew (Amanda), and Michael; grandchildren (11); and great-grandchildren (2). Then, in 2006, 20+ years added William D. Hudnall and three stepdaughters: Denise (Denny), Diane (Billy), and Debbie; grandchildren (4); and great-grandchildren (7).

She always prayed that all the family would live in such a way that we will be together again because death is not the end.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8,2026 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle with Pastor Don Dobbins officiating. Interment will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, West Virginia, 25311.
