Mr. Joshua Ernest Pauley, 47, of South Charleston, passed away at home on June 18, 2026.

Josh grew up in Finland, Ontario, Canada, and was a 1997 graduate of Fort Frances High School. He was a former Postmaster of the Cabin Creek Post Office and had also worked building timber-frame log homes, a craft he took great pride in.

Josh enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved riding his motorcycle, hunting, and fishing. Some of his most cherished moments were spent with his son, sharing the activities they both enjoyed. A devoted and loving father, Josh considered his greatest accomplishment in life to be his son, Gage, of whom he was immensely proud.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Pauley; his uncle, John Matthew; and his grandparents, Newton Margolis and Lewis “Jiggs” and Sharon Pauley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved son, Gage Owen Pauley; his mother, Cathi (Fred) Sinninghe; his grandmother, Phyllis Decaussin; his brothers, Matthew Pauley and Kyle Sinninghe; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A tribute to Josh’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Kevin Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Josh will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the pride and joy he found in being a father. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
