Roger Lee Statts, 82, of Charleston, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Cloda Young.
Roger was a loving son, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather. He served his nation in the Air Nation Guard, he was a Christian & lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and retired from DuPont. Roger was a drag racer in his youthful days and won many trophies for fastest time down the track. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cycling, and tennis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, W. Kay Statts, son, Daren Statts and fiancé, Julie Blaylock of Tampa, Fl; stepdaughter, Debbie (Tony) Thomas; sister, Donna (John) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Jennifer Amos, Jaden Amos, and Matthew (Morgan) Amos; and great grandchild, Berkley Amos.
A service will begin 1:00pm, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at the funeral home.
