EARL RUCKER, 83, of Blue Creek, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Butch Rucker; his mother, Dorthy Rucker; his sister, Opal Sizemore; his sister, Linda Rucker; and his brother, Norman “Rat” Rucker.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Janie Rucker; his son, Scot; his daughter, Valarie, and her husband, Mike; his cherished grandchildren, Michael and Madison, who were the pride and joy of his life; his sisters, Alice Burdette and Jean Hensley; along with extended family and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Earl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he began a long career with Union Carbide, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. His dedication to both his country and his work reflected the character and strong work ethic that defined his life.
Earl loved spending time with his family above all else. Whether celebrating holidays, enjoying family gatherings, or simply sharing everyday moments, he treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved.
An avid outdoorsman, Earl especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Known for his quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family, Earl leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and service. He lived a full and meaningful life and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A graveside service will begin at 11:00am, Friday, July 31, 2026, at Elk Hills Memorial Park.
