Earl Raymond Coffman, 85, of Elkview, WV passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 10, 2026. He was born July 3, 1941, to his parents Earl R. Coffman, Sr. and Charlotte in Charleston, WV and remained a lifelong resident of the Charleston area. Earl was a 1959 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, a Marine Corps veteran, and a graduate of Center College in Charleston. He retired in 2003 from Walker Machinery Co. after 40 + years of employment.
Earl was a gifted athlete who enjoyed participating in several sports including basketball, football, and softball. If he wasn’t playing, he was busy coaching and mentoring kids.
He was also an avid bowler who plated all the way up to his last few months. Earl had bowled 3 perfect games in his career.
Earl enjoyed his cars, projects around the house, and trips to the beach.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by sisters Rosemary Carpenter and Delores Hanson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Rhonda, his beloved son Scott and grandson Cameron both of Charlotte, NC, a brother Charlie (Carol) of Melbourne, FL, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
According to his wishes there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Earl’s name to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. 25387-2536.
