Raymond Michael Bernardis, 74, of Charleston passed away January 5, 2026 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was a graduate of Penn State University and retired as an office manager for the Social Security Administration with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Spencer and managed the Helping Hand of Roane County.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Norman and Dorothy Lunn Bernardis; sisters, Karen Antkowiak, Kathy Tarbet and great grandson, Devin Fugate.

Surviving are his wife, Sherry Bernardis; brothers, Mark Bernardis of Pennsylvania, Jeffery Bernadis (Donna) of New Jersey; sister, Laurel McCullough (Steve) of Georgia; grandchildren, Kathleen Fugate (David), Michael Hughes, Arika Hughes, Holly Owens (Matthew), Dylan Hughes (Candace), Kristian Hughes (Eve), Allison Willis (Garrett), Tanner Hughes and 17 great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026 in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens.
