Edith Jane Parsons, aged 91, went home to be with the Lord on January 6th, 2026. Born February 10th, 1934, to Henry and Bertha Riffe.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, George Edward Parsons, Sr., sisters Lola May Fields, Pauline Handshaw and brother Sterling (Buck) Riffe. Surviving sister Wanda Faye Williams.
Edith was a loving mother who was always there for her friends, children and grandchildren.
Edie is survived by daughter Linda Faye Parks; sons George Edward Parsons Jr.(Rita) and Michael Ray Parsons (Tammy Jo); daughter Amy Lee Thompson, daughter Patty Dixon(as Edie called her, “her adopted daughter”).
Also surviving Edie is 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren , along with several nieces and nephews.
Edie will be remember for having an adventurous life with her husband and children, with many years in the army. She lived in France, Hawaii and many states in the U.S. forming many friendships.
Edie loved to crochet, and did most of her life. She was a memeber of the South Ruffner Baptist Church in Charleston WV, where she would love to crochet gifts for the ladies of the church.
Her loving involvement with her friends and family will be deeply missed.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
