With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mary Matilda Indranee (Ranee) Rajapakse, who departed this life peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary Matilda Indranee (Ranee) Rajapakse was a devoted mother and a kind soul whose warmth, strength, and compassion touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, quiet resilience, and the deep love she held for her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Ananda Rajapakse (Australia), Chrysanthi Sumanasekera (UK), Romayne Casey (us), Shiyami Sivasubramanian (us), and Neil Rajapakse (US). Mother -in-law of Lucky Sumanasekera (UK), John Casey (US), Aravinth Sivasubramanian (US), and Ronda Harvey (US) and her cherished grandchildren, Janaka (UK), Natasha (UK), Arjuna (US), Alexandra (US) and Radhika (US).
She will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends, who will forever treasure her memory.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at 11am followed by the funeral service at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1000 6th street, Charleston, WV with Fr. Thomas Dharelli officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Anthony church are appreciated.
