Michael R. Raynes 70 of Hometown passed away peacefully at home Thursday January 8th surrounded by family.
He was born November 5, 1955 to the late Frank T. Raynes Jr. and Vada V. (Bowling) Raynes.
He was a 1974 graduate of Buffalo High School and spent many years as an NRA Handgun Instructor. He retired from Union Carbide, finishing his career with Covestro after 36 years of service during which time he was proud to say he was never late for work. He was a Mason and a longtime member of Kanawha Valley Lodge #36 AF & AM in Buffalo, WV..
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Karen Raynes, Brother Gearl (Becky) Raynes of Martinsburg, Sons Travis Raynes of Hometown and Justin (Carly) Raynes of Hurricane, as well as 8 Grandchildren: Alyssa, Evan, Layne, Logan, Ike, Ophelia, Henry, and Marin.
In accordance with Mike’s wishes there will be no service.
The family would like give special thanks to Hospice Care of WV as well as friends and neighbors who helped in his final months.
