Lavonna Pauley, 88, of Charleston, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
She was born May 10, 1937 in Hinton, WV to the late Rev. Willie & Grace Wills. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Eugene Pauley; three brothers, and six sisters.
Lavonna was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, having served as a Sunday School teacher and other ministries in the church.
Lavonna was an Avon representative for 40 years. She was a babysitter for many children and influenced them down through the years.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Pauley; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses and staff for their wonderful care for Lavonna. Special thanks to Kim, Amber, Mary, Becky, and Jennifer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Charleston.
A service will begin 1:00pm, Monday, January 19, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home, with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the funeral home.
