Roger Dale O’Brien
Roger Dale O’Brien, 71, of Charleston went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his home with family by his side.
Roger lived a life with simple joys; he found happiness in everyday moments. Spending time bowling with friends, fishing, and doing any type of lawn care. Roger never missed an opportunity to support his children and grandchildren, always attending their events. He especially enjoyed family gatherings, where stories and laughter were shared. He always had an eye for a good deal and would often be seen browsing flea markets in search of a good deal. In his younger years Roger enjoyed racing pigeons, and later in life he would play Zelda. Roger will be remembered for the love he had for family. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene “Gene” O’Brien, and Regina O’Brien; sisters, Carol Baire, and Pat Love; as well as his dogs, Gracie, and Duke.
Roger leaves behind his loving wife, Libby O’Brien; daughters, Bridget Jett (Terry), and Crystal Blake; brothers, David (Shawn), Phillip, Ricky, Billy (Kim); grandchildren, Chelsey (Mitchell) Crihfield, Kaylee Blake, and Kendra Blake; great grandchildren, Bryna, Brantley, Kylar, Josiah and Sawyer Crihfield.
Funeral service will be at 6:30pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm-6:30pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Hafer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
