Rodney Bradford Tackett (“Rod”), 73, of St. Albans, passed away on February 6, 2026.
Rod was born in Charleston, WV, and lived in St. Albans, WV, where he spent his life building a legacy rooted in hard work, family, and community. He was married to the love of his life, Catherine Ellison Tackett, for 56 years—a marriage defined by devotion, partnership, and enduring love.
Rod was the proud father of Jennifer Curry of Wharton, WV; Jill Foster of Temecula, CA; and Jessica Bass of Los Angeles, CA. He was a devoted grandfather to Bradley Tackett, Corey Burdette, Caitlyn Montgomery, Aaron White, Kayla Prowse, Myles Foster, Karagyn Foster, Maxwell Foster, and Sophia Bass, and a cherished great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Rod was the owner and operator of Rod Tackett Pools for 40 years, earning a reputation for integrity, craftsmanship, and dedication to his customers. His work ethic and commitment to doing things the right way left a lasting mark on the community he served.
Above all else, Rod will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend—steady, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so fiercely.
