Homer Dempsey

Homer Daniel Dempsey, 67 of Chapmanville WV passed away on February 8, 2026 at Hubbard Hospice House. 

He was born June 18, 1958 a son of the late Dodstil Lee Dempsey Sr. and Marsuleen Webb Dempsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Frank, Robert and Johnny Dempsey, paternal grandparents, Elliott Dempsey and Viola Williamson Dempsey Likens, maternal grandparents, Alice Nelson Webb and Cleon Webb; two nephews, Paul and Hilbert Browning and one great-nephew, Christopher Browning. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his three brothers; Dodstil L. Dempsey Jr. of Glouster, OH, Willie Dempsey (Paula) of Blairsville, GA and William Dempsey (Misti) of Cambridge, OH; three sisters; George Anna Browning of Branchland, WV, Velenda Howens of Chapmanville, WV and Alice and Harvey Midkiff of Harts, WV. A host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews additional family and friends. 

Homer was blessed to have a small circle of friends whom he dearly loved. Jane Estep was his partner in crime, Tray was his friend and caregiver, Tammy (T), Miss Clair and Jerry. 

Homer was mischievous and liked joking around. When he was younger he liked working with horses. He always wore his cowboy boots and cowboy hat. He was loved more than he knew and will never be forgotten.
