Ronald “Ronnie” Cowger, 76 of Nitro went to be with his loved ones in Heaven on Monday, February 9, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Ronnie served his country in the US Army and had worked for Union Boiler and retired from Henson’s Trucking. He loved to spend time at his farm cutting grass, but he was most happy when he was spending time with his grandkids. On January 28, 2026, Ronnie made the most important decision in his life when he gave his life to the God and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Carolyn Cowger, two sisters Barb and Joyce, and his brother Lalie.Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years Carol Sue McNealy Cowger, daughter Carla Cowger, son Chris Cowger and wife Nikki, five grandchildren Alyssa Menas, Devon Primus, Andrew Menas, Kirstie Rodrigues, Christen Pennington, eight great-grandchildren Korbyn Menas, Braxton Cowger, Abram Menas, Ava Buckley, Jaxon Primus, Baylee Primus, Aubree Pennington, and Axl Primus, and a host of friends.
Honoring his wishes he will be cremated, and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Brown’s Chapel, 1691 Dry Ridge Road, St. Albans, WV 25177.
