Rebecca Ann Dean, 77, of Charleston, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026 at her home.
Rebecca was the heart of her family — a loving mom, mamaw, granny, sister, and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met. In a home filled with five lovely sons and one cherished daughter, she created a life rooted in warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She was known for her generous spirit, her nurturing heart, and the simple but meaningful ways she showed she cared.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Dean; her parents, William and Louise Adams; five sisters, Agnes, Carole, Phyllis, Patricia, Delores, two brothers Bill, Randy and her former husband, Cecil Allen Dean.
She is survived by her loving partner, Joe Barnett; her children, Allen (Sarah) Dean, Timmy (Teresa) Dean, Harvey (Angie) Dean, Sherry (Charles) Arthur, and Kevin (April) Dean; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way; her brothers, Leroy and Gary; her sisters, Joann, Brenda, and Connie; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed by her love.
Though it would be impossible to name every life she touched, Rebecca’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the countless acts of kindness she sowed throughout her life.
In every red rose that blooms and every cardinal that appears, her love will be remembered— that love never truly leaves us.
Her family finds comfort in the promise of Revelation 21:4:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Loudendale Freewill Baptist Church, 7003 Kanawha State Forest Drive, Charleston, WV 25314, with Pastor Tim Williams officiating.
Flowers, food or any donations can go to the church where the service is held. Thank you in advance from the Deans.
