Mr. Ronald E. Thomas, 74, of Poca, passed away February 27, 2026.

Ronald was a graduate of Poca High School and dedicated nearly 40 years of service as a meat cutter for Kroger before his retirement. He was known for his incredible talent and steady hands — there truly wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Whether it was something broken around the house or a problem that needed solving, Ronald was the one everyone called. Above all, he was a protector of his family, always standing strong, offering guidance, and making sure those he loved were cared for.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garl and Kathleen Thomas.

Ronald leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Mrs. Carolyn “Sis” Thomas; his son, Matthew Thomas; his sister, Joann and her husband Danny White; three nephews, Sean (Libby) White and their children Isaac and Rylea, Eric (Amber) White and their children Ashton and Austin, and Chad (Billie) Harding and their children Shelbie, Savannah, and Shiloh; and his beloved cat, Midnight.

A tribute to the life of Ronald will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Delbert Hawley officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas-Bailey Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the administration and staff at Teays Valley Center for the wonderful care given to Ronald and his family.
