Mrs. Phyllis Jean Elswick, 79, of St. Albans, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. She was a faithful member of Nitro Church of God and enjoyed serving others as a volunteer at the Nitro Food Pantry. Phyllis had a kind heart and a strong faith, and she found great joy in helping those in her community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Elswick; her parents, Lawrence and Ella Allen; her brother, James Allen; and her sister, Doris Smith.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children, June Denise (Jim) Heckel, Robbie (Christi) Elswick, Jr., and Aaron (Jessica Turley) Elswick; sisters Mary Lou Chancey and Carolyn Sue McPherson; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
A tribute to the life of Mrs. Phyllis Jean Elswick will be held at 3:00 PM Monday March 9, 2026, at Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans, with Pastor Dave McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
