Sonja Jean “Jeanne” Jeffers

Sonja Jean “Jeanne” Jeffers, 68, of Cross Lanes, passed away on April 6, 2026. A lifelong resident of Cross Lanes, WV. Jeanne was known for her kind heart, warm spirit, and the deep connections she built with those around her. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Jeanne was born on December 2, 1957. She spent much of her working life in customer service, where her friendly nature and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers.
Above all, Jeanne was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in the love she shared with them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Shane Travis Raines; her mother, Norma Jean Jeffers; and her sister, Rhonda F. Shaw.
She is survived by her son, Joshua Raines and his wife, Vivian Raines; her father, James C. Jeffers; and her cherished grandchildren, Gavin and Thomas Raines. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will remember her with love.
Jeanne will be remembered for her caring heart, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on April 10, 2026, at noon at Cooke Funeral Home in Nitro, West Virginia. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
Although Jeanne’s presence will be deeply missed; her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched throughout her years.
