James “Jim” Rogers Jr., 63, of Hurricane, West Virginia, passed away suddenly on April 13, 2026.
Born on March 24, 1963, Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, easygoing nature, and deep love for his family. Jim proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Following his service, he built a successful career as an Area Manager for Consumer Brands, earning the respect of colleagues for his dedication and leadership.
Jim found his greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved camping in Hinton, fishing, bowling, and watching golf. A loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan, he rarely missed a game. Above all, Jim cherished time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Anita Rogers; his daughter, Krista Grimm (Zach); his son, Matt Rogers (Kimberly); his mother, Judy Rogers; his brothers, Joel Rogers (Leeann) and Jonathan Rogers (Theresa); and his beloved grandchildren, Aiden, Lydia, and his newest grandson, Jace. He was preceded in death by his father, James Rogers Sr., his favorite fishing companion.
Jim’s steady spirit, kind heart, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 25th, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Ridenour Park Pavilion in Nitro, West Virginia. Family and friends are invited to bring their fishing poles and spend time together honoring Jim in the way he loved most.
